"An Egyptian Cultural Adventure: from King Tut to the Dinosaurs"

Join us on a treasure hunt!
From the discovery of Egypt's first dinosaurs, including the first and only Spinosaurus, to a tour of the stunning archeological artifacts of the King Tut exhibition at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Then continue on this six-week adventure through the markets of Cairo, to Memphis, to the oldest pyramids in Sakkara, and ride the camels past the world-famous pyramids of Giza. After you've had your fill of pharonic treasures, follow the paleontological team on their trek through Egypt's Western Desert to the Bahariya Oasis. Here you'll see the expedition prospecting in the desert sands and mountains, discovering 90 million-year-old fossils, from a 17-foot Coelacanth fish to turtles and dinosaur teeth, to the most exciting Egyptian dinosaur discovery in almost a century. Witness the paleontological digs and discovery of a new dinosaur, then the second largest in the world, the Paralititan stromeri. The 2000 dig was initiated and planned by renowned Paleontologist Dr. Peter Dodson and his students from, and sponsored by, the University of Pennsylvania, the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, the Delaware Valley Paleontological Society, as well as Cosmos Studios and MPH Entertainment, who filmed the expedition and created the subsequent film "The Lost Dinosaurs of Egypt" (A&H and The History Channel) and two books.

Children are encouraged to attend!
